The war
War has many faces, of women and men, children and elders, soldiers and civilians. One of my graphic-editorial projects is aimed at documenting the experience and consequences of war on both those fighting and those on the margins of the battle. For just over ten years I covered the political and military events in Syria, Turkey and Iran, the Turkish-Iraqi conflict in Kurdistan (2004, 2005), the positioning of the United Nations in Lebanon after the Israeli onfall in August 2007, the military peacekeeping operations in Bosnia-Herzegovina (2007), the independence of Kosovo (2008), the plight of the Sahrawi refugees in Algeria and the tense situation between Morocco and the Frente Polisario in Western Sahara. This section includes some of the images published in different media during this time.
